How to get to Ironbridge
Ironbridge, is in the county of Shropshire on the border of North Wales and is surrounded by Cheshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire & Worcestershire. Shropshire is approximately 3 hours from London, an hour or so from Manchester and only 40 minutes from Birmingham.

Nestled in the heart of rural shropshire, today you cannot belive this beautiful town was once the centre of the industrial world. Tourism is now the most precious resource. The many museums trace Ironbridge’s history and the ‘Iron Bridge’ itself is a reminder of its importance. Ironbridge has a wonderful cluster of craft and souvenir shops.

By Air – The nearest airport to Ironbridge is Birmingham International aproximately
The nearest airports to Ironbridge are located in BirminghamLiverpool and Manchester and are all approximately an hour away. Birmingham and Manchester airports also connect to a mainline rail network. We are approximately within 4-5 hours drive from the UK’s main airports at Heathrow and Gatwick in London.

Directions By Car
Ironbridge connects to the M6 and motorway network via the M54.
The A41, A5, A53, A518 & A442 all make Ironbridge, Telford and Shropshire easily accessible. Click here to use AA routefinder to plan your journey.

From South :
Leave M6 at junction 10A for M54.
Leave M54 at junction 4.
Follow signs to Ironbridge.

From North :
Leave M6 at junction 12.
Take A5 to Telford.
Follow signs to Ironbridge.

By Bus or Coach
The National Express run coaches into many of the towns in Shropshire, please call 08705 808080. The nearest Bus station to Ironbridge is located within Telford.

Local Transport

A car is advised but not essential, Severnside Apartment, Cottage Studio and Riverside Studio are located 4/5 minutes from Ironbridge by car. There is not a continual fooptath into Ironbridge at the present so walking is on some footpath and road and takes aprox. 30/40 minutes. There are taxi telephone numbers provided in Guest Information Folders and a bus service to Iron bridge (96) every 2 hours Mon – Sat.
Bakers Cottage , Garden Apartment and Severn Studio are all located within the village of Ironbridge which is well served with bus routes which can take you direct from Ironbridge or to Telford Town Centre from there buses and trains can take you further.
The Gorge Connect is a bus service which  is run  in Peak season connecting all museums and popular tourist areas. (free to tourists that have purchased a Ironbridge Gorge Passport)

By Bicycle
Shropshire County Council produce’s a free route guide that can be obtained by contacting aShropshire Tourist Information Centre.
National Cycle Route 81 is a leisurely 14 mile signed route from Shrewsbury Town Centre to Wellington following the scenic riverside path, a traffic-free bridleway and quiet country lanes.
